The learners got together to learn how to fold origami bird on 20th June. Origami is the art of paper-folding. The school has been hosting the origami lessons run by Kyoko Morgan of Origami For Africa since 2011. Kyoko is part of a Buddhist organisation and it will be featured in the documentary film that is focusing on "Compassion In Action". The broadcast time is now scheduled for Sunday 4th August at 9.30am on Issues of Faith on SABC 2.

This. Our History.
Wesbank No.1 Primary School was the first architecturally designed school built in 2001 in Wesbank. It was the first of its kind in Wesbank. The learners of the Wesbank area attended schools in neighbouring areas for example Kuilsriver, Blackheath, Melton Rose, Bluedowns and Silversands.
Wesbank No.1 Primary opened its doors in January 2002. Learners were sent to Wesbank No.1 Primary with their teachers from these schools mentioned above. This caused lots of tension as a new identity has to be forged.
